    What kind of fish..

    Is this...

Parents caught it during the easter holidays on the coast and it appears to have a colourful pair of wings... and legs...
I don't know much about fish (ok.. nearly nothing) but just wondering what kind of fish it is.
Caught on East coast of NSW.

EDIT: SORRY. Just found the PHOTOS thread on the forum, wrong section. My bad.

It looks to be a Gurnard, probably a Red Gurnard but there are a few different types that have the wing like pectoral fins and the "legs" around the head.

There is also a Flying Gurnard but their wings are the full length of the body and I doubt this one in your photo is the flying species.
