Seeking Sounder Advice

Recently purchased Mustang 2150 with Lowrance Global Map 2000 GPS Sonar. Unfortunately as boat came from SA C-Map cartridge isn't useful on the east coast! Ideally would like to acquire an East Coast cartridge (C-Map) if possible.

Have researched new sounder combo options and would like any input on my following choices;

1. Lowrance LCX-27C
2. Hummingbird 900 series
3. Navman 8084

Any feedback re pros and cons would be great.

I have a Lowrance LCX27C and a Lowrance LCX 16Ci both are excellant and the 27C is very fast aquiring satelite update and the sounder side is also excellant. I have a Navionic map and it is very accurate.

I would have thought the Lowrance would have been navionics?? in which case for $110 they update the card including all of the australian maps. maybe the older versions were c-map. The c-map guys may also offer a similar upgrade service

WB. if you want the whole east coast of australia map look for Navionics Platinum charts, but before you go ahead and purchase one of these check on www.navionics.com if your gps/sounder can accept the platinum card.

You may find that you will have to get on the lowrance.com web site and download the patch for your GPS to use the platinum card.

Spoke to c-map guys & they told me that cartridge was no longer available.Even if they did have one, he told me he would not be able to sell it to me.Something to do with copyright/licencing laws.
