hey mate to be honest only ever used bt rod for baitfishing
you rarely get tangles around the tip,
good for night fishing .seems there abit hard to get these days

i used to be a bt only fisha but got sick of snapping tips off especially while casting wit som of the tip guides these days ya dont need a bt as the line just rolls over the frame
what sort of frames are you using?
do you live in yamba? i bought my first bt over thirty years ago
down there can't remember name of shop we brought a heap of them back 100 from memory
hi rob ill find out the name of the frames im using and let you know i certainly do live in yamba and is probably one of the only places in australia you can buy a bent tip off the shelf these days ya probably bought ya rod from the bait and tackle in the main street probably owned by ray rienberger my father used to built rods at that shop about 30 years ago does ya rod have a pic of a shark on a gold background? anyway 30 years down the track and i am now custom building the rods at yamba bait and tackle usually stock a cuople of each bt that hotrods mentioned

yes it was a butterworth, of the old style rods it was a top bream rod, the 4120 looks to be too heavy? cr4126 and the like used to be like spaghetti do you know if there still the same? if a bt doesn't turn up would you part with one in shed?
