Well,
That's a relief!
Came home Thursday with a nice 75cm barra and a 40cm jack in the esky. Released a 38cm jack, a ~60cm Queenie a couple of small GT's and the ubiquitous 'cuda that inhabit my fishing hole.
The barra was trolled up on a small Trollcraft in Gold/Green 'dazzler' pattern. These lures consistently out-perform any of my 'trophy' lures - they used to be called Producers and I stumbled onto them a few years ago when I picked one up walking along some rocks and tried it on my next trip for spectacular results resulting in in its bib being smashed to pieces. They have such a tight wiggle and troll at a depth of around 2m. My mates at the 'Warehouse' told me they use the shallow diving ones instead of bombers when they're in really snaggy country as at half the price, they can afford to lose a couple to the timber.
The jacks and queenie were picked up on unweighted live poddies and produced sweet surface smashes that got the adrenalin flowing each time they got hit. Oh yeah, there was a reef shark somewhere there as well.
Cheers
