    Beat This?

Hi all, went fishing with Keechie ( he is doing report later ) Anyway Keech caught this huge Catfish, more details with Keech's report.

P.S. I am young and wondering if there are any fishing tournaments around Brisbane that I can enter.

    Re: Beat This?

Sure is a fatty. but the usual size of catties we get up around jindalee is 50cm+ have got about 10 that size in a session before, biggest is around 65cm so far. They fight hard, but after a while get boring because they all fight the same.. and they steal your shark, salmon and bream bait .

just wondering why you said it was 49cm. when you put up a picture on a brag mat of it clearly being smaller, no big deal or anything just wondering?

Just after the 74 floods i fished with my brother off the indooroopilly canoe club ramp and we caught 36 catfish in about 3 hours, at that stage river was clearest i had seen it for years.

What a fat fella. There are a few big fat catfish in Carindale shopping centre on the bottom level near the escalator by the food court, saw them there the other week, have never noticed them before, but then again I rarely go there. I was watching some little kids looking at them as i was going up the escalator and I was just hoping one of them would either fall in or get their finger bitten or stung by the barbs. It might sound mean to some, but it would have been funny.

    Cheers Callum.

    Re: Beat This?

I'm declaring war on these pricks (catfish) I was already short on patience last night trying to keep the gf entertained while fishing. A catfish about the same size as the one pictured picks up my floater pilly. The only reason the bugger could grab it was the turn of the tide, so it must have hit the bottom = catfish. Got it to the side of the boat, cut the line then p*ssed off home. Another night of undersize crap and catfish, woohoo.

cattys are sh!t fish, and are annoying at times, the bigger ones put up a good fight but the smaller ones like you caught are just crappy and just keep taking ya bait
