    LB rock fishing?

Hey guys, I have recently moved out to redbank plains so I am now fishing the gold coast region. Being new to the area I am keen to get back into a bit of rock fishing but don't know where to start looking. I have fished the spit before but that is all i know of. I will be chasing from Brim, Flathead to Trev's and Jews using bait, SP's and HB's.

    Cheers, Mick.

The breakwaters at the mouth of the Tweed River, Fingal Headland, Cabarita headland, the rocks at Hastings Point and even the breakwaters at the mouth of Pottsville Creek have all produced fish for me in the past. You need to watch the weather though when fishing the rocks and I always fished those places through the winter - dawn, dusk and through the night.

yeh what freeedom said mate. I was in a similar situation to you a few months back and worked some of the above spots and had good results, Particuly down of fingal heads rockwall in to the tweed. ALso try scoping around http://maps.google.com.au/maps?ie=UT...45.834961&om=1. Try zooming in an around the gold coast to find potential spots.
If you dont mind purchasing a book go to one of the local fishing tackle stores and pick up this gem http://www.hookedinparadise.com.au/

    best of luck

Stay safe on the rocks mate. I find alot of these spots can take a bit of figuring out. The weather hasn't been very conducive to fishing off the rocks recently. but its getting better and the fish are coming in.

Each rock spot produces good fish at certain times of the year.

    good luck

    Thanks Owen,
I wont be heading out just yet as my wedding is taking up all of our spendings so it will be 2-3 months away but it will be nice and cold by then. I want to try and target Trev's and Jews (hint hint ) but any by catch is welcome.

    Cheers, Mick.
