Thread: Hinze Parking

    Hinze Parking

I had the council call me today regarding an email I sent on the parking situation at the Mudgeeraba ramp.

They will not put "No parking" signs as the council does not do them anymore because of cost and vandelism. They only do yellow lines instead. They will not however put yellow lines either because of the gravel at the side of the road and it is to far out for anyone to police it.

He said he spoke to the ranger and they didnt want them either and a new ramp was going to be built eventually in any case.

So the matter is closed as far as they are concerned. Can't say we didnt try.

    cheers -Richard-

I got much the same response from the ranger a couple of weeks ago after I wrote them. He said that they didnt have money in the budget for them and wasnt allowed to move the ones from the old ramp as they were non compliant. Reeks of yes minister.

...aahh politicians and public servants - hard not to tar them all with the same brush! And with the elections just over don't expect any service till we get closer to the next election

Good on you for trying though - sometimes they surprise you and actually listen.

    Re: Hinze Parking

Why don't ausfishers do a working bee and put them up??? Surely it wouldn't cost that much for a few posts and a couple of signs?? It wouldn't get policed but others don't know this, I am sure ausfishers don't park there!!

"no money in the budget"......... I kindly received a 180 dollar parking fine while watching the quikky pro at snapper. bet about 20 others in the same spot copped the same. one of these fines would surely cover a sign or two!!!!!

    cheers, nick.

    Re: Hinze Parking

The new ramp on the western arm is marked out and ready to be built. Just past Black Shoot Gully it will be, supposedly completed by May.

I use this access point already and can't wait for it to be completed, but suspect the same parking problems will exist as on the eastern side.

    Re: Hinze Parking

Hey Coast Runner 540, is Black Shoot Gully signposted ?

I have just recently started going to Hinze and only know of the main access point up the end of the western arm.

    Any info would be appreciated.

    Re: Hinze Parking

    Hmmm

would it be theft or vandalism if someone took a "no parking" sign from one place & installed it in another... both on council land... just a hypothetical question .a sort of unoficial realcation of assetts.

You never know, the ranger might even let it slip where the old signs are.

    cheers
