    Hi Silent,

Got some baby ones in my castnet last week, about 1 inch long,
got a 40cm one last year on the goldy.

I see em for sale in a local seafood shop! Ive heard they are bad eating, but someone is eating em.

Does anybody know if the spike is still painfull when the fish is dead ?

    Gidday Andrew,

I ate it and tasted not bad, similar to trevally...

I would not dare to test on dead scat, too afraid

theres only one way to find out

im guessing it would be, as happy moments still sting after they are dead and shriveled up, i found this out when my mate threw a dead one at me and natural instinct was to hit it away, stupidly . but yer i would say yes.
