auto bilge pumps switch and pump or combined unit?

Does anyone have any thoughts on which is preferrable, a seperate bilge pump and auto switch or a combined unit (like the rule mate 2000)? The combined unit does seem to simplify things a little at least in terms of installation

    Hi all,
Johnson pumps have the new ulitmate bildge series. i beleive that they come in 600,800,1000&1250gph and also have a 3 yaer warranty which is a big bonus!

    cheers

IMO a good switch might near last forever, where a pump will not, go the separate unit, know it's a pain the extra wiring and all. Can even string a couple of pumps from it for redundancy.

    cheers fnq
