    Hello Hello From CQ

    Hi all,

Just joined so this is my first post. Im from Gladstone and just recently got back into fishing.

Im more into land based than boat, does anyone have any spots that they are willing to share?

I usually fish around the railway bridges on calliope river, the tug boat wharf off "ROUTE D" or toward the GPA wharf at the mouth of Calliope.

I've tried burley and different baits however the fish seem to be few and far between. Any hints, tips or ideas would be great.

    Cheers,
    Steve

Thanks for the warm reception. I've just walked in the door from an almost quiet night fishing from the bank at Shale Oil. Mud crabs seem to be happily taking prawns on hooks, but mostly jenny's and undersized bucks... About a 4ft Shovel nose provided some entertainment for about 20mins of tight line fun but other than that, still nothing worth a letter home about. Better luck next time i guess...

Thumbs up Re: Hello Hello From CQ

While your trying to fish the flats near the Shale oil plant, don't forget about trying for a few prawns with the cast net, they should be their as we speak.
Travel past the shale plant turn left and then go along untill you see a row of pine trees on the right go through the gate and head straight down to the water edge.

    Cheers
