trying a new spacing @ th emoment, initial testing sems great !

    here is what im doing...

    25.16.10.8.7.7.7.7 + tip
    T.115.120.130.140.150.170.190.230
gets the strippr guide quite close to the reel BUT when the reel si attached (im my case i used daiwa's and a pflueger for testing) they all lined up perfectly !

Thanks a lot for the tip! I'm going 20-12-8-6-5.5-5.5-5.5-5.5, so obviously that's a bit closer to the blank, but I'll use your placing as a guide and go from there.

btw, can't help asking, did you get it out of the trophy cabinet (deserves to be) and flicked some plastics? It feels really fast as a blank, so I'm wondering what's the action like on the water.

ah yeah had it out for its test run last week..took me about 1/2 hour to get used to it as im a med fast taper fan and the XF taper is quite different...
was flicking MB smolts, squidgy bugs on resin heads, 2' grubs and a few small poppers...all good as far as im concerned..nailed a nice 50cm+ lizard with in the first 1/2 as well...once it loads up its a totally different rod...surprisingly soft load but really powerful...very impressed with it..got a few hours free in the next 2 days so ill go and have a play again and see if i can russle up some action shots !

    Good stuff HOTRODS!

Peter from GCCR makes each range of blanks a different colour to make it easier to differentiate

    GUSA blanks are 'black cherry'

    United are purple metallic

    Pioneer are clear gloss

you can also get specific colours, but you have to wait. there really is not much point buying Hastings stuff from the states, what if the blank isn't what you wanted? what if it gets damaged in transit or has an issue that requires return? Also as HOTRODS mentioned there is now an extensive range of blanks exclusively designed for the oz market which are not available anywhere else, especially when it comes to bream and barra sticks

thats the right choice of guides if you are running braid. braid is much easier to control off the spool so doesn't require such a large stripper and you can step down to the choke much more aggressively. I displayed a tournament bream stick at last years AFTA show with that same guide setup and it raised a few eyebrows...

Most of the imported light spin rods have really large strippers (i've seen some jap rods have 30mm!) this is because they fish FC straight through which is quite stiff and you need to be more gradual in the control of the loops off the reel

FYI regarding spacing recommendations for Fujis concept system, do a bit of a search you should come across Fujis recommendations, they have them for popular rod lengths in 6" jumps and are a very good starting point

    Re: MY new bream Stick

Well after little prompting and in need of some fresh air, i went for a wander down the puddle this morning, new Rod in hand for an attempt @ its first legal bream...
unfortunatly for me it took me 4 fish to crack a legal..but hey who's counting..look @ the conditions i had to put up with !
    enjoy the pics...ME
load up shot of the hook up on the legal fish for starters..she is quite forgiving once loaded..but still amazing amount of power ...

and a few bug munching runts to keep my busy while i serched for MrBIG...

and finally...her first legal...probly a shade over 30+ cm fork...

    happy days !!!

Brilliant shots! Obviously the breams can't resist all that pink and jump on the jig just to get a closer look!
