    MY new bream Stick

Finally got 32.8 seconds to slot a new toy into the mix for myself this week...

went a little left field with the colour sceme, but it seems to match perfectly with the metallic flake in the clear coat of the blank..so im happy...even though im already getting bombarded with the 'barbie Rod' comments !

for those playing @ home this is 1 of my SwizzleStik ELITE 701LXF's

All FUJI TATSG / TLSG guides...

    first forgrip trim wrap

    and my Bream Weave...

    Re: MY new bream Stick

Bloody good job hotrods...after seeing your threadwork..I have decided that my fingers need to go on a diet... or I need to borrow someones nimble fingers....as for the "barbie" comments... each to their own I reckon...whatever floats their boat...or bends (or straighens) their rods ... long as ur happy with it...and I'm sure "Barbie" would be more than happy to hold a rod of that quality in her delicate little hands

    Top job I reckon....cheers, Robbie

    Re: MY new bream Stick

Ian, threads use where Guterman Col. 41 Metallic Chrome for the lateral and Gudebrod 'A' NCP 337 for the wrap. 1 coat of CP to prevent transparency.
i do my own grid / weave patterns no programe... 49 x 84 thread counts for jst the weave..but 2.5 hours worth...

B.E.N this blank is a Hastings GUSA 70LXF, through GCCR as they import them into Aus from the states.

    Re: MY new bream Stick

how did you go about getting the colour, did you order thru GCCR or did one of the retailers have stock of them? have been looking to get the colour range of the GUSA blanks since mudhole stopped their order scheme without any luck as of yet

    Re: MY new bream Stick

ah dont know Ben allthe Pioneers i have used hav ebeen gloss graphite and the GUSA'a i have used and own are all the Plum wash over the blank with a slight metalic throught the clear as standard...wasnt a special order...i just order my stock and get what im given !

just had a look at both of mu personal blanks, the one above is a pinkish metallic over the plum and my 'Stalker 601ULF' which was the 600DHX has the same plum wash with a slight blue metallic through the clear.. i guess its what ever mood the painter is in...lol

    Re: MY new bream Stick

kool, the only down side for the US purchased Hastings is the wait, has a mate get an order of blanks from Mud Hole and it took over 3 months to get them...

I get them overnight !!! bit of a diference ! lol

And the US blanks are different from Our as a lot if not most of the range wholesaled by GCCR to retail outlets and rod builders have beed designed for the Aussie Market and are not available in the US...

absolutely beautiful piece of craftsmanship mate!

2,5hrs well spent on that weave.. little details like that make all the difference.
    Cheers,

    Re: MY new bream Stick

yeh i think the wait was pretty long for the coloured blanks from mudhole as GUSA made them to order.
yeh i think its great that we have two differently designed range of blanks from them to choose from. i have a couple of blanks from GUSA that i got off mudhole that are going to be great, will post pics when their done!

    Re: MY new bream Stick

Very nice... Funnily enough, I have that very same blank plus a set of TATSG/TLSG that could become a nice rod if I finally find the time to build it!!!

Anyway, I noticed that you used eight guides and hey, I am going to use eight guides too (trying the concept thingie)... so I was wondering what spacing you've ended up with?

NB: There won't be any tricky wave on mine, I find those small guides tricky enough to keep me amused for hours!
