Hey Gazza, Mate SP rod would be great but if you have access to a surf rod take it as you will need to spin metal lures over the wrecks in the morning and later during the day. You'll get small Mackeral and Tuna on the wrecks in the morning.
Take your snorkling gear as well as it's a beutiful place to look at scenery and the oceans depths. I snorkled there with aunty and saw Wobbegong Sharks, Cod, GT's up to around 1metre were cruising and I saw a ganged Pilchard getting smashed infront of me by a Tailor. I would take the surf rod, and SP combo. Take a cast net aswell if you own one as there are some bait in there and throw one out in search of something to smash it such as Flathead, Cod and even small Macks.
Overall make sure you have a great time!!! Don't go swimming during the night aswell. There are also activities such as feeding the Dolphins, Looking around the old Whaling Station! My favourite thing there was the Whaling Station as it's a great place to look at. Make sure you do those two things.
Cheers Tom and tell me how you go.
