    G'day

It's a form of fishing, so whomever was there first.

I will not cast near others fishing, however if I was cast netting and fisherman rocked up.... then stiff to them. They can either stay or move on

to right but..... it seems to one of those things i wouln't do it to anybody else but they allways seem ok with doing it to me. same as if i pitch up to fish somewhere and there is already somone fishing there, if me fishing would impose on them i go else where.

Yeh I'd say first in best dressed aswell but I'd still curtious enough not to cast net to close a new comer.I would want the same respect aswell if I started fishing next to someone. But I would make that call on the day. What really ticks me off is power boats with ignorant drivers that travel to close to shore.Obviously not fishermen.I lost a 300 buck baitcaster combo at Maroochy to a crazy catamaran and I was spitting chips. The woman offered me $30 and I told her to keep it.

Same thing happened to me but the combo was $90, I then threw a MASSIVE Snapper sinker at them and ran

usually I cast net right on top of where the bait lands from other people, that way you're guaranteed ... and to have the spot to yourself. just kidding!! no I don't think it's fair.

If someone rocks up while your castnetting and thenstarts to throw near you that's fine.

yeah but how far away are you talking. i said its fair but i wouldnt do it right next to someone fishing. there not fishing for bait. fish will come back. ive got a spot i always get ample bait within a few casts but i have to travel a bit. if someone is fishing near im not turning around.

I have never had a problem with people cast netting near me when I am fishing and I have often scored some bait from them. I help them pick up their catch or get them out of the net if they are gilled. It would be different if they were pushing me out of the way. Haven't ever met anyone rude enough to throw their net on top of my line - but these days you never know!
