Maroochy river & bar
Hi guys,
I'm ater a bit of local knowledge if possible. I'm going to be staying at Maroochy river over Easter and I'm taking my boat which I'll hopefully be able to take off shore (weather permitting ofcourse).
I have plenty of questios for you knowledgable folk:
- What is the Maroochy bar like at the momnt and does anyone have any tips for crossing? It looks pretty messy on google earth! Am I better off driving down to Mooloolabah to put da boat in?
- Are there any close offshore spots off Maroochy? Or will I need to head south to the normal Mooloobah spots - Gnerings/Murphies etc? Would love generic GPS marks if anyone can provide..?
- If the wheather's no good, what can people suggest for fishing in the river? I've had a bit of luck with flatties on plastics there b4... Where are the spots and what plastics should I be trying??
Thanks in advance for all your help!
Beaross.

Re: Maroochy river & bar
I definately would stay well away from the Maroochy bar, its a quick trip to Mooloolaba and that entertance is pretty safe in most conditions. Head up river for jacks, jew in the cod hole and the flatties are everywhere you find em
