Where abouts are you could help for a start.
I have just bought a Hiace camper van which has an expired gas bottle. My problem is that new gas bottles are too tall to fit where it has to go. So I would like to find someone who could test and restamp the old bottle. Just wondering if anybody knows where I could get this done maybe close to the Wynnum area ?

Talk to a camping shop or a caravan dealership - they often have arrangements to get testing done.

If your bottle has a bottom ring and a top shroud near the valve you can use it with swap and go bottles at garages. They do not require a bottle to be in test or not and normally do not check dates anyway. If thier bottles are suitable for your application I would be opting for that because bottles will be out of date every 5 or 10 years anyway plus swap and go can be done 24/7 from most garages now. Getting refills 24/7 is almost extinct these days.
I have taken probably a dozen bottles out of date to swap and go now and not once been questioned about them, they change the valves and retest them and put them back into service anyway.

Tony, check the Yellow Pages or Google for gas specialists. I'm on the Gold Coast and took a bottle to a place on Johnston St at Southport (a 'Gas Shop'). They fitted a new valve, tested it and restamped for another 10 years. I think it cost about $35 from memory.
There will be similar places in Brisbane, but I don't know them.

I use to get LPG bottles Tested & restamped at Gameco at Milton .
They pressure test them , if Ok , change the valve & restamp for in test for another 10 years .
That was a couple of years ago , but I'm sure they still do them , or could advise some one in your area that does .
