Polycrafts with Hydrofoil????????

Hi all Poly owners,

I have a 455 C/C Poly with a 60hp Tohatsu. I was just wondering if any one has ever put a hydrofoil on a poly. I was wondering what the benifits would be. If anyine would have any info please dont hesitate to let me now. Pics would also be great. By the way I love my Poly and would not go back to a Tinnie anyday.IMO

G'day PM, I also have a 455 with a 60hp toey and have fitted a permatrim and can say this, I dropped a couple of knots top end (WOT now 30-31knots was 33-34, however.....My minimum planing speed has been reduced significantly and my 20-22knot (cruise speed) RPM has been reduced significantly as well all equalling far better fuel economy.
Thje boat jumps onto the plane much quicker which is excellent as you would also know they are a bit bum-heavy (side console in my case). The trim is also far more responsive at all speeds.
The link pete put up above is a wealth of knowledge and you will spend 3 days just going through post of modified poly's on there.

Hay Guys thanks for all the help. Looking at the poly boat owners site and is awsome. I have a 455 Centre Console and a 70lt underfloor fuel and a custom deck at the front. Squizzytaylor would you recomend the permatrim or would a se 300 be alright. Send me the info on the permatrim please.

The permatrim is 4mm powdercoated steel so has a very low profile and therefore low drag, I paid around $115 for mine and fitted it in around 45 minutes.

I would buy NO other form of "foil", the 2 piece ones after time always seem to develop a curve to them from the pressure on them and the thick plastic ones have far too much resistance against the water.
