Just some info quality....for example a shimano stradic 5000fi / 8000fi and a diawa freams 4500j..
Its not so much that one may carry more line but the quality between them..
I'm sure someone out there would probably have both..

I have both. Stradic is a little more refined, but the Freams is built fairly tough. I use the Freams for offshore plastics, and the drag and build have held up so far on a couple of big AJs, more so than the Stradic probably would. If you want something to flick lures all day and be treated a bit better, I would choose the Stradic.
I have a stradic 6000 and 8000 as well as 2x freams 3000's.
In all honesty, I think the freams are the best kept secret ever. The drag is superb. Mine is loaded up with 20lb. they are rated to 7kg drag.
Everyone at my local tackle store has the 3000's and I certainly wouldn't sneaze at buying the 4000 for added options with the extra capacity - that is the only limitation.
have only had the stradic for 3-4 months, but have found them excellent too - but I have the larger stradics and obviously use them for different situations.
Suppose what I'm saying is they are both great reels, although if I had a choice in the 3000 size, I would take the freams - simply because I have had it for 18mths and it has never let me down - Trevs, sharks, trout, macs - the lot.
