    Do you squash the barbs on your slicks?

    Do all you barra guys squash the barbs on your slick rigs? Most i no do on hard bodies and was just wondering about slicks as mast seem to hook fish well down in the mouth.

    The short answer is no l dont.....What do most Barra do when you get them hooked well down in the mouth ??? Jump.....Slick rig goooone....You need at least one contact point with the fish...or its cheeroo charlie...

    Its hard enough to keep a good hookup with slicks or any plastics as it is, without reducing the chances crushing the barb. I have found the single hook relatively easy/safely removed.

    Thanks guys,
    all my softys till now iv rigged myself and the barbs break off when i squash them anyway. I squash all my fly barbs but have only got salty and lenthalls barra. Ill be at moonduran for a lot of the next month on and off and am going to try something different ill let you all know what a disaster it was chewy.....
