Huh ? why not, they are superb eating.. I'd walk over broken glass for a freshly caught Jew.. sigh
They call small Jew soapies for a reason, haha. How often do Jewies get caught? Not enough as they should I reckon.

Blue Mako, well done mate. Wasn't going to start fishing the river for a couple of months yet until the mullet run starts but that rain has probably kick started the process.

Awesome fishing mate and obviously a bit of a 'honeypot' - don't come across those spots very often mate so I'd be keeping it all to yourself - until someone recognises you .

IMO - you pretty game eating fish from the river, especially if the 'drain' is where I think it is. Hope you don't grow an extra eye or leg or testi.

PS. Good to see you boys sticking it to each other - certainly keeps the competition and rivalry going amongst mates.

Your fish isnt really a soapy....They are called soapies up to a couple of kilo then they are referred to as schoolies.
Your fish is in the schoolie category and would have been great eating.
Anyway good on you for letting him swim away.
