    rod tip runner question

When you heat up the tip runner of a rod to remove it, does the heating process weaken the fiberglass?
Should I cut a bit off the tip of the rod before replacing with a new tip runner, or
just glue the new one on?

    Re: rod tip runner question

It doesn't take a lot of heat to get the tip unstuck/off, when ever i have removed rod tip i have just re glued the new tip on not cutting or removing any of the rod. Never had any dramas doing this, in fact cutting the tip may change the action of the rod slightly so its not recommended.

    Cheers Chris

Sounds good to me. Thanks Bayfisher. It`s a 25kg rod, lot of stress there, so just wanted to make sure.
