I got a new reel today, Spheros 14000.
It has about 3mm in and out play on the spool shaft. This seems a bit excessive.
I bought it from the states (yeah yeah I know )
What is the norm, as this is my first big reel.
Is there something inside that may be loose or not adjusted correctly to cause this if its not normal?

Untill some Spheros owners will respond, Ive just checked a few of my larger reels for this.
All have it to some degree, Mitchells, large Daiwas and Penn Spinfisher, Brettons and an Abu Cardinal.
The Spinfisher and Cardinal have the most, maybe 2-2.5 mm, but I've not an issue with this fact when any of the reels are in use.
So as long as the reel works fine, just ignore it.
