Just go out there when the Mackeral are running and look for about 10 boats in the one spot.
We trolled over that awhile back and picked up a couple of nice spaniards.

I'd love to go out there one day for a trip but don't know anyone that has a boat capable of getting out there. I'm staying clear of charter operators. If anyone knows someone, let me know, I'll chip in towards fuel. I'm in Marsden, Qld, halfway between Brisbane and the GoldCoast but drive to Seven Mile Beach past Byron Bay on occassions. Peter

Hi Mate,
There have been a few reports of mackeral showing up so it should be worth a shot.
I have been experimenting with downsizing my jew gear and using different techniques and have had some spectacular results at a new spot I have found down south in amongst the Death Adders.
Looking forward to getting back out on the ocean soon though.
