    Thumbs up Barra Spots

Thanks for all the great inof fellas, It looks like I may drive past Monduran next trip and try Gladstione area.

Can someone let me know if there is plenty of calm water spots to hunt, as my tinnie is only 3.4 M and also a friendly tackle shop who may give me directions.

Just an address if names are not allowed on this site.

Thats a great magzine you are writing for Jas, nice people they sent me a spinning reel for a comp they run. That mag has been one of my bibles for some years now.

I will put a few more of my fishing experiences together when I can.

My computer crashed for 36 hours, couldn't run my business. Nearly went out to Somerset Dam.

Thanke again for the tips fellas.

    Re: Barra Spots

we were trolling . had 3 in the tinnie so casting a bit dangerous. Lure depth was a 4 mtr predittek natural colours. Dont troll with your electric as it will be to slow. You need to do about 3 knots. Up in b section. Not to may boats around but as word got out we were catching the barra we had a few followers but that didnt bother us as we like to try to help others catch fish.

    Gordon,
Gladstone is like most other coastal area's in QLD, yep it blows like shit up here at times. However the Harbour is a huge system, many mangrove lined creeks and calm waters.
Awoonga also has area's to fish when its windy, but 3.4 metres I'd be careful if its blowing and fish near the ramp.
    P a t s t a c k l e w o r l d down near the yacht club will be able to help with info.
    Cheers

Yes I know what you mean, Monduran is great but I had best catch a few wild Barra to get the experence again.

Last time I was on Monduran there were 2 fishing clubs up for the weekend and over 200 boats.

I came out of the timber near White Rock and I was tempted to anchor in the middle of the channel and direct boats like a traffic cop it was so busy.

I will wait until the weather cools a little.
