Cairns Charter Advice
Hi all,
Heading to cairns in late may and very keen to go on a charter...probably bottom bashing or may be chase some gt's. I have heard some good things about Aquacat but any members recent experiences or advice on charters from cairns would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance. Mic

Re: Cairns Charter Advice
Bulli,
Aquacat seems to cater for older style group charters, ie 10 guys on a "Fishing Trip". The guy has been in the business for about 20 years so he knows his stuff, however there are a few of the new style charter guys out of here now, smaller faster sportfishing type set ups who will prob listen when you say , hey i wanna go chase GT's etc. Normally they only take 4-6 guys or less. I've been on a couple of local charters when i moved here, to see what was around etc and there's a few really switched on guys, i can pm you the names if you like so as not to piss off anyone not on the list.
One guy in particular i see when i'm out sometimes and he fishes some really cool country, chasing Spaniards, GT's etc or out deeper looking for Red's and Nanny's.
Let me know,
Matt

Also ask where the charter is going, outer, middle or inner reef the further out you go the better the odds, drastically better sometimes, but of coarse fish can be caught virtually anywhere out there.
