Simple question - are they any good as an overhead for reef fishing??

I've got an Abu Garcia 7000C3 that I use around the inner reefs. It's a bit small for the bigger fish out wider IMO.

Uhmm, I'd use the overhead offshore in deeper water, with the Abu use it for inshore and shallow reefs..

A guy in at work a week ago uses one for big reds and the like up north. Although he does replace a few cogs/gears when they strip. Yet the reel is still tough as nails.
