Video burning help

OK, I have issues again.

I am trying to burn a DVD.

I have saved the movie I made on my camera into My Videos file. That took 30 minutes, for a 19 minute video.

Anyway, I have tried ( for about 4 hours ) to burn it to a DVD-R and a DVD+R using:-

Nero Smart start
Video Editor 8.0
AVID
And Video Impressions

All with no luck at all.

Messages I get are

Aborted by user
No disc in driver
Cannot access

And most software does not even have a “ burn “ option even though I do go to the “ export “ area, it still will not allow me to do this.

I have the movie in my Card Reader at the moment and would really like to just Burn a DVD from the card……….

Any suggestions…. In English ?????

Can you play the video on the pc??

If so then you should be able to burn it on a DVD from the hard drive

I am unable to help with smart start because I use Nero Express

Yep, I can go to the video and click on play and it will play on Windows media Player.

What size is the file you want to record

Phil, Does your computer have two drives? ie 2 dvd drives or cd and dvd drives?
It could be that the program is trying to write to the wrong drive. When it comes up to the burn pallete it should have the DVD burner highlighted but could have the cdrom highlighted.

Only other thing i can think of is if you have saved it as a copyrighted movie....that will give a termination cammand to nero express.

I don't copy movies or download them.

I have had a conversation with a fellow Ausfisher, groverwa ( Mike ) and it appears that we may have solved the problem. And the problem is ME..... NOT windows ME, just plain me...

I read the writing on my DVD burner and it says DVD rom. So, it would seem that I am trying to burn a DVD to something that I do not have.

I will now take a few other steps to get this sorted and one of those will be to purchase a DVD burner....

You do not need to copy a movie from a dvd to have a copyrighted version, It is a parameter that you can set when you save the movie as a movie whether it is from your camera or soemthing you have created in your computer.

Having a DVD burner will definitely make the whole job a lot less frustrating.
