The right Lure and downrigging.
G'Day,
This topic may already be covered somewhere but I am only new to the forum and have just a couple of questions.
1. What type of lure(name) and colour are good for Yellowbelly,Redfin, Cod, Trout? I have just started trolling with my first boat and need to buy some of the right sort so I have a bit of a variety.
2.When downrigging how far back should your lure be from the bomb?
Went out to Ben Chifley Dam near Bathurst on Saturday did no good but did manage to jag a small redfin must have been the unluckiest fish in the dam.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Norto.

Hows it goin Norto 1 ?
I can't help with the downrigger question, but these are my favourite bibbed lures for Yellowbelly, which may even pick up the occasional cod . I've cast these lures from the bank, but I'm sure they'll be cool for trolling as well.
RMG Poltergeist firefin colour, red and black stripe with yellow underside.
Predatek Boomerang 65 cicada nice green colour.
Stumpjumpers in both sizes any colour.
Pakrat 65mm in purple.
Not sure if these will be too big for trout, from my understanding trout and bream lures are about the same size.
I know next to nothing about redfin. ( except that they have red fins !!! )
Anyone else want to step up and add to the list ???

Re: The right Lure and downrigging.
Thanks for the input little Grey Man, I have put them on my list and will get them next time I go shopping. The Downrigger question is probably trial and error but I was just curious as to what others have experienced with varying lengths of line from the bomb.
Regards,
Norto.
