Quality Spinning Outfit

I am trying to reduce the amount of fishing gear I have (sacrilege I know) and basically I want to have only three outfits that cover almost every type of fishing scenario. I have a 2-4kg Shimano Catana rod/reel combo for brim, flatties, squiding, etc... I have a Saltiga expedition 6500 and Saltiga 55s Deep for jigging, bottom bouncing and trolling. What I want is a quality combo that will handle 70cm kings, salmon etc... but is light enough to cast sluggos and medium sized soft plastics. I was thinking a Diawa Hyper certate 3500, but I am not sure what rod I would match it too. Any ideas on both rod and reel would be welcome! Cheers,

How much do you wish to spend on a rod ...... You did say quality ( which makes sense with the Certate)

Obviously there's plenty of choices here - like Nagg suggested, an idea of budget would help.

Hi guys, thanks for the suggsetions so far. As far as budget goes, I would like to keep it under a $1000 all up if possible. I was looking at the Saltiga 3500 Game, so that might blow the budget a bit, but basically a rod around $3-400. Always happy to spend less though.

Fafnir, I have had a play in the shop of a Saltiga A-Rounder 70S and it felt perfect. The only problem is that it is only rated to 16lb line. I was thinking of running probably 20-30lb.

The Magnum butt would have been my choice & shouldn't set you back more than $250

I run 30lb Castaway on mine no worries at all. If I was ever going to take a rod to bed with me, my 70S would be the one. I love it in a way that a man probably shouldn't love a piece of fishing tackle. But they are expensive. At $599 they are a fair bit over the budget that you mentioned for a rod, and there are plenty of really nice rods out there for $400 or less.
