    Wiring a 16f tinny

I have an open 16f tinny. I run a sounder, bilge pump, nav lights. Currently I have it wired up fairly basically. Each part is individually wired back to the battery with a rectifier charging as I go.

The system works ok but looks really messy. I have 4 sets of leads I need to connect to each terminal and somtimes they all dont make a decent enough contact to work(i.e occasionally my sounder will blink in and out)

I have my battery in a box at the back of the boat. I'd also like to install a isolator in/on the box. Im not exactly sure on the best process to wire it all up.

2 options I have come up with.

Run power from batter to switch pannel and run all functions from there. with an isolator mounted on battery box.

    Or

Connect all wires into a single terminal and then connect to the battery.(this is much easier but doesn't seem as clean)

How do most of you run your wiring for a smallish boat. ?

Mate i have the exact same size boat and i am running about the same gear,i bought a waterproof switch box from jcar and fitted a busbar with neg and pos terminal's inside and ran some 4mm wire to it and then fitted a switch panel to the front of the box and wired my sounder, nav light's,bildge etc through it i dont run an isolator for it i just don't think i need one in this situation and being a single battey set up.Get some heat shrink that is resin lined and solder all termination's and you won't have a problem,no need really to buy tinned wire either if you use the waterproof heatshrink. If you have a bildge pump with float switch i would run it direct from the battery(fused of course) so it's alway's ready to go and not forgotten to be turned on.

    Dan5 has nailed it mate.
Another option I tried when I had a 12 footer was to mount a recessed switch panel on the side of the battery box, all positive supplies individually fused and all negs straight to the neg terminal on the battery. A little bit of split black wireing conduit and some black ties tidies every thing up nicely.
Cheap, out of the way and practical

    G'day

What the boys have said with one variable.... GET TINNED WIRE, the twin core is easy, if you don't.... you will be re-wiring in a few short years.

And I garuntee you will have a failure when you need your gear the most, Ie. bilge pump
