It will want to be a really extended long weekend. If you head up to derwent bridge (central highlands) you will be able to take your pick of lakes. It will also depend on mode of transport. Arthers lake is a good option, really want a boat. Most of the good lakes are in the central highlands within about 50km. Not called the land of a 1000 lakes for no good reason. Licence will be required.

Depending on where and when in Tassie, many of the central lakes can be fished from the shore (timbered area; small inlets). many rivers hold good stocks. Ask the locals.
COOLA (ex tassie)
will be down there too over easter ,spending 4 days up in the brady chain of lakes and over to authurs lake ,my dad said the water is very low in all the lakes but bronte is fishing very good ,the brother inlaw has a shack on the edge of this lake and i am looking forward to getting in to them .the fly is very productive in these lakes and they are only 15k apart between the 4 of them.cheers AL
