Bicycle tyre tubes from road bikes.. they are almost perfect diameter for a normal blokes fingers.. cut off 2 inch sections of tube, keep them in your tackle box. Slip them over your fingers so the tips of your fingers are sticking out, so you can still feel the bites.
Worked for me last time I handlined at Swaines reef
If men are from Mars, and women are from Venus, politicians must be from uranus ?

    Re: Line cuts

    elastoplast, or bicycle tubes

either / or... both good as each other. But rubber tubes have to fit. And you don't need 'sensitivity' when handlining - you are either on or your not...

    Re: Line cuts

Haven't handlined in years, but my best finger guard was a finger length of neoprene material from an old wetsuit, sewed into a tube that just fit my finger.

I only used it on one finger as the lead that takes all the strain.

I dont know about not needing sensativity when handlining - I recon you need more.

" Harden the F?#k up "... ha ha. Got diesel fitter hands pal. Dont really know how much harder they can get. See how your hands handle hard reef fishing when you get 4 foot GT's taking your bait on the way down.

    Re: Line cuts

I know you were talking about handlining but if its that much of an issue there are now things on the market called rods and reels!
