Decided to head to morten yesterday arvo, afer fridays trip was cancelled . left clontarf boat ramp at 2.30 pm with the intention of getting a few livies and then going to spot x and sitting out the night in hope of a couple of fish. get to beakons .jigged for about 1 hour at 3 diffrent beakons with not much luck couple tailor , few yakkas, not real flash at all . started heading north noticed birds were working some patches of fish in close, went and had a closer look. masses of small tuna.threw three different size slugs for one bump with no luck.decided we anchor up for the night when up she come must have been 35/40 knt in about 5 min.run to tangas to hide for a while when on approching the wrecks noticed a brand new tender flotting away all on its pat malone after reuniting tender with the owner who was oblivious it was missing.after three atempts to anchor and not hooking up.had a rethink and decicided to go back to spot x and tough it out, what a ripper decision.soon as we anchored up started berly and it was on got smoked by what i thought was a kingy this happenend quite afew times through the night then hoked on to a nice snap only to be let down by my leader re-rigged 20 min later boated first fish 7 kg snap then a 4.5 kg lost another .boated another 5 kg fished till 3am with lots of runs . decided weather was good enough to run home got back at 4am with not a bad run home. until next time
