Soft Plastics.
Hello,
I need some help with soft plastics. I'll be fishing the Noosa River and Gold Coast Broadwater. My target species will be Bream, Trevally, Queenfish and the old Cod. I have 8lb Fireline on my Sahara 2500 reel with my Sonic 7 foot rod. I've got 70mm Killer Tomato Squidgey Fish, Swimming 3" Mullet in Pumpkinseed, New Penny Powerprawns, what other plastics will work well and which is the best around those areas for those species of fish. What weight jighead?
Cheers Tom

Re: Soft Plastics.
if your fishing around the bridges and structure in noosa give the old honey pot prawnstar a go . trevs n jacks like them, but hang on as its floating down cause thats when they ussually get smashed.

Re: Soft Plastics.
Squidgy wrigglers on a 1/16 nitro jighead or 1/12,squidgy flickbaits might work in Pearlescent white, evil minnow or flash prawn, powerbait 4'' minnows, you could also use the squidgy round jigheads or tt jigheads

Re: Soft Plastics.
Got to throw in the 3 Inch Atomic prong in Pumpkin Holo colour on a light jighead and shallow water or a 2 or 3 inch Berkley Gulp Shrimp on a 1/16 oz head.

Re: Soft Plastics.
Hey m8.
I always have a backup packet of powerbait pumpkinseed minnows. Was the first placcy I ever used and the tackle shop sold me the 7 inch.
Went to try em out...first cast down near the co op at Shorncliffe and i had a flathead that was about 14 inches...lol.
The last fish I caught on em was a 50cm flathead after the toadies chewed through a variety of gulps and I had no action on the squidgees...
Second cast and hooked up on the flathead.
If none of the plastics I have are working I will rely on these, I ran out and have gone for 3 inch. (Haven’t fished since)
Get yourself a prawnstar in the mini sizes for sandy bottoms. Lethal.
I changed knots since then and my jig heads' hooks will bend before I loose a knot. Which I am happy with if snagged on a rock...
line to leader is the "improved albright" knot
and line to jig head is the “uni knot"
