hi all, i have finaly caught something to report. i went fishing friday arvo/nite. the plan was to fish crab island for flathead and whiting. got there at 5.00, drifted around and ancored in a few diferent spots for nothin but 2 stingrays. at 10.00 called it quits and headed down to the council chambers to have a camp so i could have a fish in the morning. i pulled the boat up 6m off the rock wall, half way along. i though a line out while i was geting my swag ready and caught 7 nice whiting from 30-40. finaly catching a feed to take home to the wife i rolled up the swag and headed for home at 12.00. sorry no photos, i dont own one of those flash cameras. could someone tell me if i just jaged them or do you catch them there? i had a bit of a sound around with the depth sounder and didnt think it was anything special. have a good1 bill.
Sounds like you were very dedicated to catching a fish or 3, even bringing your swag. Yes, the council chambers is a very renowned spot for whiting, but along the rock wall you are also likely to catch mangrove jack.
