    Bay Fruits

Fished Peel from about 3am, dropped a few pots the flicked plastics.
First cast I nailed a Mowong, not a bad fight but a bit of a let down once netted. After a few recent reports on them I bled it and will try it tonight. Next cast I got smashed by a Cod, bricked me but run the electric up to his lair and got him out. He went about 50cm, the crouds started rolling in so I checked the pots. 1 Sandie into the slurrie, headed to 4 beacons for a look. There was a few birds working a couple of small schools but I couldnt get close enough.
Home via the Paddock Reef, does anyone fish there???
Grabbed the pots and headed back to the Ramp. Magic day with a feed thrown in.

Nice work CS. We fished Mud from about 6-10am and only pulled up Squire and a lone Bream in the 23 -30cm range along with the ever dependable Grinner, plus a single but solid Sandie from the pots. Couldn't believe how quiet it was out there with magic conditions as you pointed out.

I have worked out the fish shut down when it is calmer so i need at least 12 notts to bring on the plastics and the big ones. Sounded like a nice day and those mowong do fight hard for their size.

    CS,

Nice cod - how was the morwong - have never kept them on the basis that general consensus was they were not that great - interested to hear your thoughts.

Greggo 1 - i think the crowds may have been down a bit in light of the BOM report the night before and even still that morning - I should have just stuck with seabreeze. I was one who had planned a trip out but them saw fri nights report and decided to give it a miss - would have been a great day for an early trip and back before lunch.

This is probably a dumb question but where or what is the paddock reef? I have never heard of it?

    Cheers

Filled up on Sandies last night, Mother in law tonight!
Paddock is in the Middle of the Bay, more or less in the Middle between 4 Beacons and Mud.

A couple of nice fish, we picked up a morwong last week and bled it and gave it a chew. A lot say their pretty ordinary but i thought they were ok.

    Thanks CS

Yer I knew that area was generally referred to as the paddock - I often check through there looking for schools etc although may not be doing that soon and it certainly looks like my youngster won't be. I may have misread your post as I thought you were saying you knew of a reef somewhere in the paddock.

I would have gone for the sandies first as well.

Let me know how the MIL fish goes.

    Thanks CS,

Apreciate that - I will have to have a better look around there. Also interested to hear that the Morwong tasted ok.
