arrived at awonga after a 1200km trip from nsw new the weather would be dicey but decided to risk it anyway, on arrival we were suprised to hear that the dam had risen 3m in 24hours also talk of closing dam due floating debri, we lauched our boats on thursday arvo with only 3 trailers at the ramp this wasnt the awonga we were used too, water temp was 27deg and slowing falling wind was about 20 knts and constant so we persavered for the arvo with 1 barra 92cm landed on a 110mm slick rig 1 barra 850 on a barra bait 1 barra 800 on a predatek then it was back to camp for some gold cans (gotta love em) next morning was an early start with 2 trailers at the ramp and a very big colour change across about 3/4 of the dam water temp still dropping a big day was put in for one barra 75cm on a 100mm slick rig all barra caught were realesed very carefully to fight another day overall a great trip in some tuff conditions what a great place will be back. mark c
