We fished hard with surface lures in what seemed like optimal conditions, with loads of bait flicking, for nothing but catties. Used mostly Tango dancers and Fizzers. As for slicks, we caught 'em on all different colours, mostly in the 130 size. I got 2 fish on dropbears and one on a 130mm squidgy fish in the gold over milky white colour (surprised they didn't incorporate this colour into the pro range), with a 1/2 oz, 4/0 hook jighead with a stinger ganged on. Second time I've caught a fish on this set-up, both times right down the fish's throat, while other lures were in corner of mouth. Boys got their fish on Lorikeet, Bleeding mullet, and Evil minnow, so don't think colour was too important.

Haven't taken the boat out at Macca's for at least 3 mths. Taken the canoe out for a few late surface sessions, for pretty average results .

Yeah, it's a bit of a bummer Pete. Not the end of the world though, the fishing's not the reason I live here, it's just a beautiful place. I'm probably not the one to ask on recovery time, there's other more knowledgable people on that subject. But when you hear guys like Fitzy say that bass take roughly 10yrs to reach 50cm FL, it's gunna be long time before it's anything like it was. You'd think in 2 or so yrs that the current stocks/restocks will attain a reasonable size, and there will be some rogues still in there.
