Well the wind keeps on blowing and the showers keep on rolling through, so it was back to a wet and windy Pine River after a bit of success last week. Launched at Deep Water Bend and ran up the river to chase some prawns. Only managed about 40 or so, mostly greasies, and they were very hard to find. Picked up about 8 poddy mullet as well, but couldn't find any herring. Fished the turn of the tide at the top and the first half of the run out. The quality of the bream was better than last week and I managed 8 keeper, a couple over 30cm. Also took a small cod (40cm) and released a marginal grunter and Moses perch. Had a bit of fun with a big stingray and a few catfish, but the big surprise was a nice school jew (64cm) that took a prawn and gave me quite a fight on the light bream gear. All the fish were caught on prawns, couldn't give away a poddy in the whole session. Quit about midday. Got wet a few times and blown around on the anchor rope quite a lot, but who cares when you get a nice feed for your troubles. Jew steaks on the griddle plate for tea tonight
