Re: Re shark cat decks ... what are these ?
It is for a Danforth style sand anchor. Slots in the top, the triangle is where the tips of the flutes sit and the rear is where the shank goes. Did you remove something around the chain/rope hole to protect glass?

Hey Greg P ..
Thanks ... removed the feed through for the bitter end, but just to have it rechromed along with other bits and pieces as quality items like that just aren't produced any more.
Interesting ... all the fittings removed for clean up and electroplating seem to be brass !!
Cheers

If they are good quality they will be copper nickle, electroplating put's a thin layer of copper over to smooth out any small imperfection's.That piece missing would be called a Hauser Pipe and yes lot's of that stuff nowaday's is chromed plastic, polished s/s 316 is the go if you can get it made.

Thanks Dan ...
Most likely going to get whatever such as bollards and the like re chromed as at least the existing stuff fits the application the way they are ...

Re: Re shark cat decks ... what are these ?
Re chroming brass fittings is something I do quite often.
As good as new, slightly cheaper, but the key thing is they fit back where they came from.
One of my biggest problems is getting brand new fittings to match where old fittings came from.
Cleats, Bollards, Bilge Pump Housings, Switch Panels, Aerials ... to name just a few that always give trouble.
Cheers
Pete
