There good Fish you've got there mate!!
Well done!!!
Chookman
We had a very exciting 30 minite session when we happened to anchor on a school of big reds , merphy's law was in full swing ( what can go wrong will go wrong) knots coming undone, lines and leaders braking near the hooks jush when you thought you had it beat, bird nests, hooks not sharp enough, and just plain over exited !! finished up with 6 nice fish biggest 11 kg , Plenty of sweet lip and the occasional trout .
Great week end, love that part of Australia.

There is a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot

We had two night in the Fitzroy lagoon , got there around 9 pm Thursday night and came home Saturday midday , we targeted the red emperor through out the day but only had the one good season of big reds around 10am in 40 to 50 m of water, we did have other sessions with under size and shark bitten fish in 80 to 90 m and 30 to 40 m travelled just over 310 klm on the water so I figure around 170 klm and 170 lts of Fuel was used looking for new spots, so forgive me if I don’t hand over the gps marks easily !!
Nearly all the sweet lip were caught close to Fitzroy early in the morning and just before dark Friday afternoon with three of us fishing all the time except in the lagoon we put a fair amount of time into our catch but still very rewarding.
I have already bought different hooks and 80 lbs leader.
Looking forward to the next trip.

Well done it's a long haul to Fitzroy I drove the 625 there last September from 1770 - 2.5 hrs out and 4.5 hrs back as it blew up, can't wait to do it again. Can you get in and out of the lagoon easily looked pretty tight to get in there what's it like at low tide??
Mad Fish
mad fish fitzroy is a very easy entrance in daylight hrs you can get a fairly big vessel in there with not to many dramas awesome anchorage
iam a bit worried about the cruisy but mate 2.5 hrs there and 4.5 back its only 62klms from round hill
hold onto that mark anthony. that spot seams to hold some nice fish inside there hey.
ben
Nice haul there Antony, bet everyone was running around like a chook with its head cut off trying to get back in the water. Nothing worse when they're going off and getting busted off and trying like hell to rig back up again. Thats when knots usually fail.
Cheers
