They would go well on a lot of my heavier lure. Good one Mitch

I for one have been hoping and searching for an alternative to trebles for as long as I have had to use them. They damage fish more than needed, and often with hard mouthed fish they stop each other from penetrating the bone. Not to mention the time spent trying to get them out without getting one in yourself in the process.
At last years Flathead classic, a brochure was given to all anglers and in that brochure I came across my dream hook. For Bass it looked to be the perfect proportioned hook. The next opportunity I had to visit Tackle World in Southport, I vigorously and with much enthusiasm demanded they order me some of these precious hooks and not to let anyone else know I wanted them.
They arrived and that weekend I tested them extensively, using them on every type of Bass lure I have with expected results, GOOD. Since I started using them I haven’t dropped a fish during the fight like I did with trebles, and have had no misses on the strikes.
To finish up I can say single hooks over trebles are a hell of a lot better and before long I will be sousing bigger single hooks to put on all my other lures.

It will be interesting to see how many will give these a good go. Trebles can be a right pain in the a$s sometimes and with the popularity of C&R these make de hooking a breeze compared.
Will definately be getting myself a few packets.
i'll give it a crack as the single hook is definatly better for the fish but when fishing with a mate recently i was slow rolling a slider on a jighead while he worked a treble rigged hardbody, I had heaps of missed hookups while he only had one.....and that was when the hooks had fouled on each other during the cast, the diving lure got smashed when he was dragging it flailing around on the surface!(and middle of the day too!)
we'll see how we go. We're both coming up to hinze for the electric comp next month so i should get some hooks to try out then.
Cheers for the tip Mitch.

Hmmmmm... interesting, they'd be pretty easy to fit to the lures as well. those little trebles bite hard I'm using the evergreen littlemax, they have doubles which are very effective.
I wonder what the hook up rate would be like if you turned the first hook around..it would make it a little more snag resistant. ( always a good thing )
Hi Roo,
I haven't dad any dramas at all using these hooks on my hard bodied lures, The hookup rate appears to be the same if not better.
I was in Charlton's Tackle store today, they have a good range of small hooks like the ones i use as well as the Decoy brand that come in 2/0 and up which will be great for the larger hard bodied ones.

Yeh, I much prefer singles on my slugs. Heaps better hook up rate and it minimises the risk of a stray treble in the finger when un hooking fish.
Hi Roo,
I'm using Gamakatsu 2 and 4's. I'm using the smaller 4 on the back although it dosn't matter that much. I put one to the test on monday, 40lb leader to the hook with the curve through a hole in my Cruiser tray. It took alot of pullin to stuff it. No Bass, Yella or Cod could get off these hooks. The ones in Charltons tackle store looked a bit finer, might be better just for Bass and Yella's.
