Don't ask me why but I decided to heads out to the hards yesterday after seeing what the weather was like on Saturday. Two days in a row couldn't be more different. Took just over 2 hours to get to spot x which was a little slower than usual but the trip wasn't too bad. We get out there only to be met with white caps all around us. Tried for about 1/2 hour to get the anchor to hook up only to drop a line over and get a few nibbles.
Put up with it for about an hour hardly being able to stand and decided to cut our losses and head back to shore. Decided to throw out a skirt to troll home as we could only travel about 9-10 kn. The journey was an epic one which took just under 4 hours with no takers on the skirt. The only fish we managed for the day was a poor old flying fish which must have jumped out of the water at the wrong time and landed in the boat.
I guess next time I'll pay more attention to the weather report lol.
No photos this time. I think we all know what a flying fish looks like. If not just look up pilchard in your book and imagine it with foldable wings!
Cheers
