    Kev

I fished 2 hours either side of high tide. Only needed a largish ball sinker, wasnt too bad. It certainly runs through there all right. I get there round half way between the tides, and start fishing but usually 2 to 1 1/2 hours either side that is fishable. Too much run otherwise

Thanks Mike, that,s what I do also. I've found it impossible to fish on some occasions when a full run is on, with 8 oz of lead streaming out the back of the boat. On a couple of occasions I've had a frantic half hour, with big hits, bang on slack water. Trouble is though, that's also when the small reefies hit your bait as well.

After my trip to curtain on saturday with you but not knowing i think you might have been the son who ha the large head on his hook that got smashed and draged down to the deep. The big fish i hooked on plastics was not a snapper but it was to big for my 4000 stradic on 14 pound braid and it had weight to. Dont forget my sorry ass for a smell free decky i want one off those big reds you talk about but i will bring boat anchor line and a piece of y12 for a hook. Cheers and thanks for firing me up for my big red.

Apparently you may be falling victim to Kingies, and you know how dirty they fight.

One of these days all the odds will be in your favour Mike. In the meantime we can only re live those moments while the fan keeps blowing!!

    MM,

Glad to hear I was not the only one who couldn't put fish in the esky last weekend. It appears there were a few of us. After all the weather tho - great to be out a great day nonetheless - shame about this weekend.

Twodogs - I had being tossing around the idea of going to the sandhills last saturday - after reading the above maybe that would have been the plan - always nice to get a few whiting even if the macs don't play the game.

Starting to wonder if the will be here at all this year - opnly 2 weeks of summer left.

Can only hope - I think the next trip will be to the sandhills and the rous to see if we can find a few.

Good luck to all when you get out there next.

    Cheers
    NMT
