We have just started selling those type of connectors and you are right, they are not rated to the appropriate IP rating for being submerged, only sprayed or momentarily dunked in water.
Anyway, this is the sort of stuff that gives the do gooders ammo on why 4wds should be banned etc.
Perhaps Toyota could use it as a commercial, but at the end when he gets out and does the leap in the air, the song can say "Oh what a ######, in a Toyota"

It is one thing to do something stupid with your vehicle that could put your life at risk but he was responsible for that little fella's life as well which in my opinion makes him much more than just an idiot. He is the worst type. A selfish careless idiot. I have been in water half that depth but flowing very fast and it was enough to shift my Pajero sideways. I would never attempt something as stupid as that regardless.

He Might Be Driving A Toyota! But He Is A Total Yoyo Imo.
It Wouldn't Matter How Well He" Knew His Car" Steve99, He Could Not Possibly Conceive And Prepare For Every Eventuality That Could Arise During The Crossing. It Seems With The Amount Of Sideways Action Going On, It Would Have Only Needed A Couple More Inches Of Water And It Would Have Been Curtains!
