    Bulwer

    Hi all
took the new boat for a run over to moreton headed out to the cape got there and looked like a 2 mtr swell running and as i was not to sure where i was looking for decided it was time to go back to bulwer where i knew of a few marks on the way back we pssed boat after boat after boat heading out some where a lot smaller than my 4.75 , anyway in the end we caught a heap of whip tails and grinners all released and landed 2 x 50 cm mowong and a nice 40 cm snapper for dinner, took a run back home at 11 am to bribie and took 34 minutes which i though was ok from bulwer not not at flat stick and half a tank of fuel

Shane, What are whip tails?, I've never heard of them, maybe I might recognise them if I see them. Peter

Looked like a nice day for a run over Shane.
Bulwer ledge, especially the north end, has saved our bacon quite a few times after a frustrating day out side, some big cod, cobes, long tails, sweeties and snaps to be had on the right tides, bang one of those whiptails over as a livie, never know what will eat it
    cheers

    Thanks Shane,

I'll keep my eyeout for it again if I come across it I'll try to get a proper ID of it.

Hey brian my mate done that to the first whip tail five minutes later a run then nothing no hook or sinker cut right through the line so he put a wire trace and never got another touch after that

Whiptails are very pretty fish with a long filament that hangs from the top of the tail fin. Can be different colours, lots caught on reefs and I've even caught one in parrearra channel at the lock. More info in the old thread.

yeah mate, there is the odd noah or two to give you grief.
Weve found bream, tarwhine, squire and sweeties, all legal size of course, to be better livies than the whippies, but they do in a pinch
    cheers
