    Replacing Stolen Fishfinder

    Hi everyone...
I had my Garmin fishfinder stolen a week or so ago and it looks like I will have to purchase a new one. The old one came with the boat and was a few years old.

Anyway, it was single beam basic fishfinder with greyscale screen.

My question is, can you recommend a good basic fishfinder for my 4.3m tinny?

I don't want to spend more than $200 but I am prepared to consider a better quality 2nd hand unit or buying through ebay/US.

Alternaltively I just go down to K-MART and buy a cheap Piranha 210 for $180...

    What's your thoughts ?

    Cheers

    Bilopete

Garmin FF140 - Dual Beam transducer, B&W but enough resolution to give a good quality image. Mine is working well!

    About $220 new.

If your boats insured, see if theft is in the policy? I covered my boat for everything inside it.. including rods, batteries etc. You never know you might get better than you have aimed for.

    good luck

    good fishing

Yes it was insured but the excess is $150 and the unit would,'t have cost more than $200. The theft was reported to the police and a serial number and model was given.
