Re: Sundown Marine - Latest News

People, watch out for ptices at the auction. At the Boatarama auction on the Gold Coast last year, MOST chandlery went above RRP. I saw some basic PFD1 you can get for around $13 almost anywhere, go for $20. Outboards in the box still had the old prices on. A 60Hp was marked "special" on the box for $5500, yet it went for $6200 at the auction PLUS 10% auctioneer commission. Stupid......

    HI

Catalogue is now up on Davlan website, and there is a lot of fishing tackle. Problem is that many of the lots include say 3 reels of the same type, or 33 squidgies of the same type. There are quite a few individual items as well, but I would think that at least half of the lots will not really be any good for the individual fisho unless you need a lot of reels of the one type.

Quite a few sounders, GPSs too.

Might be an oportunity for Ausfishers to get together and bid on the multiple item lots if they can get organised quickly.

Good oportunity if you want to start a tackle store.

Question Re: Sundown Marine - Latest News

Sorry, but don't feel bad for Deborah, hear she played a big part in the downfall of the business,( cashed up and in hiding) and is now claiming she never had any knowledge of the business and its dealings. Strange since the web site mentions her as a principal.
Apparently, Another big player in the downfall of the business, was the new business starting up in a closeby premises. He had Sundown under contract since Nov, preventing a sale to any other interested party.
With regard to staff, apparently, when a business goes broke, staff are the only ones sure to get their money. If there is no funds in the business, then the governemnt pay them through a scheme called "gears".
