I am trying to decide what to do with the landy. That is wheather to take it to the tip/wrecker or whether i should try and sell it etc. Maybe there are people/clubs out there that are interested for restoration/parts. Any ideas on value would be great. Might only be good for the ali body or to stick it on Ebay
Land rover 1968 model Series 2A
Original 4 cyl peterol engine.
It was still in use about 2 years ago.
Plenty of people still looking for parts for the old girls or amazingly a lot of people still restore them.
If it still goes a lot of people on farms would look for them as well.
How much are you wanting for it as my dad made some contacts when we restored ours.
The main thing as a restore job is if the chassis is rusty or not.
That's the hard bit. Getting a good chassis.
Here's our before and after shots. Literally
It was actually used for target practice. We left the bullet holes in the dash
So there's a possibility someone stupid enough like us will want the old girl to do up
What a transformation. I would be happy to see it go for between $500 to $1000. I might be hopping for to much though. I haven't had a real good look at the chassis, i will have a look on the weekend.
a good mate of mine has one the same, the call it the "bannana box"
old mates a pro crabber, and uses the landy to put his boat in evrey day.
all the crabbers cars are rooted with rust and absolutly fingered, but the bannana box is as good as new!
Hey Lippa...the reason we had to do something about the "old" Landy was when we retrieved the boat one day the back cross member fell off on the ramp.
Luckily we had a drawbar on the front as well.
We turned the Landy around. Hooked the boat on the front and backed home
Lucky it's only 2 or 3km's.
The chassis came from Texas in QLD and was completely rust free.
We had it blasted and a coating put on it that they bung on trawler decks. It's guaranteed for 10 years on a trawler so we thought it'll be ok on a chassis.
The stuff is as hard as the hobs of hell.
We had to get the angle grinder in the get the chassis number visible. A hammer just bounced off it without even chipping the stuff.
What does pmsl mean??? Is it one of those women things??
