    Switch problem

    Hi Guys

not sure if anyone knows much about this but I bought some nice switches for my anchor and nav lights and I cant quite work out how to wire them. instead of the usual 2 pols o nthe back of the switch these have 4, the packat they came in labels them +(i am assuming this is positive) Accessory or Acc and ground. One is not used. Normally I would just connect the red from the lights to one pole and the other pole to power. Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Switch problem

Mate they might be illuminated switches
One pole would be for the positive feed
one pole for what you want to switch
one pole for acc which is the illumination within the switch usally wired off the ignition feed
one pole for the negative to run the little light within the switch

It has a little led light to let you know it is on so yeah it is illuminated to some degree. i noticed you have made mention of all four poles however the packaging says one is not used so i would connect the light i want switched to that one and the + pole?

    Re: Switch problem

sorry I thought there was 4 poles

One for the positive feed to the switch
One for the switched output eg lights
one for the earth to provide a circuit for the led in the switch eg the negative

turn switch on led lights up in switch and nav lights turn on
    hope this helps
